Zuxin Chen

From 2003 to 2007 Zuxin Chen studied Biotechnology in School of Life Science & Technology in University of Science & Technology in Wuhan, China. After receiving his Bachelors in Biotechnology, he enrolled in a five year PhD program in Biophysics in Key Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics, Ministry of Education and Institute of Biophysics & Biochemistry in Huazhong University of Science & Technology, under the direction of Professor Xu Tao.

At the end of 2008, he moved to Max Planck Institute for Biophysics Chemistry in Goettingen, Germany as an exchange student in the department of membrane biophysics, under the direction of Dr. Samuel Young.

In May 2010, he moved to Max Planck Florida Institute, as an exchange student in the research group of Molecular Neurobiology, under the direction of Dr. Samuel Young.

  • Synaptic protein function in neurotransmitter release and synapse plasticity
  • Calcium's role in neurotransmitter release and synapse plasticity
  • Synapse dis-function and disease
  • Construction of recombinant virus
